Enjoy_Food_and_Wine

Enjoy Food and Wine

This still life depicts many favorites in the life of a gourmand. The wine bottles, bread, and herbs. The rich shades of green, red, and burgundy add warmth to the painting against an abstract background. Botanical symbolism has its origin in antiquity, where plants are often used in metaphors for virtue and vice. In classical mythology, human beings are transformed into plants as a reward or punishment (Narcissus was the vain youth who fell in love with his own reflection and was changed into a flower that bore his name).

The_Eight_Dolphins

The Eight Dolphins

Many have been enthralled with the moment of dolphins and these movements are expressed in this beautiful watercolor painting. Here there is a fascination of their fluid motion. Because dolphins must make frequent trips to the surface of the water to catch a breath, this watercolor has an emphasis on the fact that it is a mammal. This is a reminder of the Mexico, Sinaloa state, Mazatian city statue of the dolphins along the Malecon (waterfront street).
